SUMMARY:Winning Federal Research Grants
DESCRIPTION:Winning Federal Research Grants: SBIR/STTR Workshop is an introductory seminar designed for technology-based businesses seeking research and development funding through federal programs. This session provides an overview of the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs and how they support innovation and commercialization. \nParticipants learn how to identify relevant grant opportunities\, understand program requirements\, and navigate the application process. The workshop also highlights best practices for strengthening proposals and increasing competitiveness in these highly selective funding programs. \nSBIR and STTR grants encourage domestic small businesses to participate in federal research and development efforts with strong potential for commercialization. These programs help small businesses explore new technologies\, reduce technical risk\, and move innovations closer to market. By engaging small businesses in the nation’s R&D efforts\, SBIR and STTR support both economic growth and technological advancement. \nNumerous Kansas City–area companies have successfully funded their research through SBIR and STTR grants\, with awards that can total up to $1.5 million per business. This workshop helps participants understand how their business could qualify and what steps are required to pursue this funding.
